20s to the 40s 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s! Not age, but decades! This season, you’ll need multiple styling tools. So bring out your hot rollers, flat irons and curling irons! It is important to make sure your appliances are IONIC because ions protect your hair from heat damage and leave your hair feeling healthy and shiny!
How do you achieve these retro looks? It’s easy with these decade by decade tips! The 20s were all about finger and beautiful groomed waves on a bob or shoulder length hair. The 40s were known for creative updos with extreme volume and dramatic bangs or a pompadour. The 50s always had an aire of sophistication (think Grace Kelly or Mad Men TV series). The 60s were about the cropped/pixie cut and mod asymmetrical haircuts. This contrasts to 70s which was all about extreme volume like Brigitte Bardot. And finally the 80s! This era is a culmination of anything goes as long as it’s a statement. From big voluminous hair to a new wave inspired look with chopped bangs influenced by your
favorite 80’s band! The key point for this seasonis INDIVIDUALITY!

Lastly, I encourage everyone to enjoy the variety the Fall and Winter bring. Changing your hair style this season should be fun because ANYTHING GOES!
I’ve written in the past seasons HOW TO’s from the French twist, the pony tail, the bob, loose waves and braids. Here are 3 styles that I feel are a great way to add a new twist to some classics, Fluffy Waves, Tousled Ponytail, and the Looped Bun. |
